Maybe This Love Story Is Really About Me — Pre-Order Edition

Inside The Book

Sexy Dark Night Of The Soul

Every love story begins with the princess sobbing. She is on her knees, with nothing left to do but surrender to something greater than herself, having no idea how she’s going to get through this chapter or what awaits on the other side. Something needs to change, but she doesn’t know what or how she’s going to do it.

Little does she know, this dark night of the soul is setting the stage for all the magic, glitter and sparkles to come.

Except in this love story, instead of being saved by a prince at the expense of her voice, the Princess becomes a MF Goddess.

A dark night of the soul is an on-your-knees moment or chapter when you find yourself living your personal nightmare. The relationship you thought would be forever ends, someone you love passes, the career that once defined you is no longer, your health status changes, a truth is revealed that changes everything, or the identity you spent years becoming suddenly begins to fall away.

But what if it needed to get that dark for how much light is to come?

What if this dark night was really your initiation into the version of yourself you’ve secretly always wanted to become, but could have never accessed without this catalyst?
What if this raw emotion is really the raw material for your art?
What if it needed to get this “bad”, to this level, for you to finally let go and open up to a whole new iteration of life beyond your wildest dreams?

We spend our lives fearing the dark, but everything is born in her. The stars in the night, the life in the womb, the seed in the soil, all are only possible through their deep descent into the fertile void.

This path of transmuting your dark night into your full divine feminine expression is what I call the Sexy Dark Night of the Soul. And yes, I mean sexy—not just in the way you look, but as a state of consciousness. Sexiness comes in how alive you are, how activated and moved by life, how much you feel the full range of your experience and embody the goddess you were always born to become. You’re extra, exaggerated, with more life pulsing through your blood, and that could have only happened if you fully allowed your old self to die. (RIP bitch.)

The women who have alchemized their dark night of the soul? You feel them. They walk into the room differently. They’re magnetic in a way that has nothing to do with how they look and everything to do with who they become by dancing through the inferno instead of tiptoeing around it. They’ve faced their deepest fears and in doing so, become fearless, fierce and fly af. She walked into that dark and came back out dancing with a strobe light.

Yet there is also an embodied softness to them. They embrace their sensuality in the way they sway their hips, savor the world around them and laugh with a honeyed sweetness that only comes when you’ve made it through the swarm. They notice beauty everywhere, consciously create it, and simply be in it. You hear more depth in their voice, more nuance in their perspective and so much more imagination in their creativity. Somehow, they have become even more enchanted by life, rather than less.
